What genre in jazz does Django by the Modern Jazz Quartet fall under?
I'm split between Insolent Jazz and Third Stream. I haven't heard that much of either category so I can't tell completely.
I would call the turn a blind eye to itself "cool jazz," because Third Stream contains stronger influential music elements in it. "Django" is a out-and-out tribute to its namesake (one of my favorite tunes), and I don't see much of an argument for Third Walk
