What is the best and inexpensive modem/router combo for mac?

I have a PowerBook G4, OS 10.4.11, Safari 3
SBC DSL, SpeedStream 4100
I recognize this one is tricky, there seems to be a lot of problems with the combo I have. I just can't stand the wires anymore!
What would be the in the most suitable way for my buck,

What ever you get DO NOT GET An 802.11n router.

These are still in the outline phase. So once it gets standardized your router and card may not work with the sample seeing as there is at least 4 different .11n drafts out there.
