Modem not working with router - Modems

Motorola DSL modem not working with Linksys Router.?

My aforesaid DSL Speedstream modem and Lynksys router worked fine. Now that I have the new Motorola modem, my router does not link to the internet. I reinstalled the Linksys using the install CD and still no internet. Everything works okay when I go back to the old Speedstream.

Does the motorola modem works if its unswervingly connected to the computer? If it does then you just need to set the motorola modem into link mode to communicate with the router.
