How do I add my linksys wireless router to my embarq 660 series modem?

My embarq 660 series modem is connected to my desktop but I hankering to add my wireless so I can also use my laptop while keeping the desktop hooked up to the modem.

Run the cat 5 radiogram from the modem to the input port on your router. Unplug the power from your modem for a few seconds then block it back in. Wait for your modem to lock on completely, then plug in the router. When the router locks on, set up your wireless friend at court.
