can i put my old HP modem in my new acer computer?

Justified bought a new computer (acer) it doesn't have a modem. Will the modem from my old HP computer be compatible with this new computer. Old computer was windows 98 new computer is vista. Please lift I'm really computer ignorant.

Depends on the kind of the modem card and if the modem manufac. makes a driver that is compatible with Vista (xp driver might drudgery). For the driver you'll need to go the the modem manufac. site and look for driver downloads that prospect your modem and vista.

Recently, I was masterly to get my hands on an HP Mini 311 netbook.
