Does using the eSATA socket work with a USB cable or do I have to go buy a cable specifically for eSATA socket?

I'm using the eSATA socket in conjunction with this outside hard drive I plan on buying and am wondering if the USB cable is the same line you use for the eSATA or if the cord required is one built specifically for the eSATA socket.

no... the SATA cables for businesslike drives are their own cables. you can not use a USB cable on your motherboard. you need a SATA cable...

substantiation out newegg.com or tigerdirect.com.. everything is cheap there and they ship quick
