can a wireless router with 4 ports support 6 pc's in a household?

Without delay now weI have 3 pc's directly plugged into the 3 of the 4 ports in the wireless router (Linksys WRT54G), and 3 notebooks accessing via wireless. It seems when all 6 pc's are signed on to the internet at the same point, we tend to have connection problem.
