Battery question mark droid - Batteries

My motorolla Droid has a question mark where the battery strength is?

Every continually i unplug it from charging it shuts down. I assume the battery has gone bad? Does anyone understand for sure.... I don't have the manuel to look at.

I unprejudiced got a droid a few days ago, but I'm not sure what the question mark you are seeing means. I check the manuel that came with mine but there was nothing about that in there. My only profitable advice would be to call or email customer service about the problem,
