Battery 0 plugged in not charging - Batteries

My Compaq CQ50 says 0% battery, plugged in, not charging. What should i do?

I have had this computer for a while and nothing has ever been go kaput. One day i go to plug it in and it say 0% plugged in, not charging... This is the first time it has happened.

BTW i have windows vista place basic

Get a new battery or charger.
